1922–1935 US Silver Peace Dollar Coins

The
The new design was commissioned to commemorate the resumption of peace following the conclusion of World War I. It was designed by Anthony De Francisci, the result of a competition to find designs emblematic of peace. The Peace Dollar included twenty–four different issues, spanning from 1921–1935.
The obverse features a stylized rendering of the engraver’s wife, Teresa, depicted as Lady Liberty. The date of mintage is under the image of Lady Liberty.
The reverse is a perched bald eagle with the “Peace” beneath and in an arc above the eagle are the words UNITED STATES OF AMERICA and under that, the words E PLURIBUS UNUM.
The Peace Dollar contains .7734 troy ounces of silver and is 90% silver with 10% copper.
American Peace Dollar
was introduced in 1921 as a successor to the popular Morgan Dollar series.
